Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the It’s My Hair Magazine launch in Atlanta, GA. PR for this event was provided by Lillie Mae PR. Read the official press release here. Sponsors included X-RATED Fusion Liqueur, Vita Coco, Red Bull, Design Essentials®, Beautiful Textures, Huetiful, DPL, Coco Breve, Sweet Shack Shoppe, Lamik, Shimmer & Bliss, Sofn’Free, Kynx, Curls, Mane ‘n Tail, Bobeam, Darcy’s Botanicals, Eden Bodyworks, Finickey, CurlKit, Flawless Beauty Cosmetics, Camille Rose, Hi Texture Hair, Yolanda Nicole. The media partners included Its Arkeedah, Samone Says, Oh Nikka, SIR Magazine, and Me, My Hair & The City (Source: Lillie Mae PR).
The quarterly magazine, which was started by Editor-In-chief Selena Milby (pictured below, second from left), is described as “a magazine for all things fabulous in natural hair, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle”. Personally, I’m really excited about what this magazine has to offer.
The event took place on Saturday, July 14 and was FREE for all those who RSVP’ed. Yes, I said free! There were so many lovely naturalistas in the building at the Jennifer Schwartz Gallery!
Adrienne of Me, My Hair, the City, was also in the building.
Of course, as the event progressed, more and more natural women and men arrived.
While there, I ran into April (Cocoa Report), pictured here with DJ Traci Steele
Tarika (The Pursuit of Nappiness), pictured here with April
Kini (Variety Curls Apparel)
Miss B Locs
and Tori (President of Brainchild Associates), pictured with yours truly.
Some of the giveaways included a Heutiful Hair Steamer and products from Design Essentials® Naturals.
All attendees received a great gift bag, full of natural hair products.
